Pin 9 on neutral safety switch
Please help me. I am trying to make a standalone harness. I lost on something right now. I have the one plug neutral safety switch on my 4l60e transmission out of a 2005 5.3 silverado. I have the pinout for the plug. From what I can tell pin1----goes to starter relay
Pin2----not used
pin3---not used
pin4,5,6,8---to pcm
pin7---to ground
pin10---to backup lights
pin11,12---- key on 12volts
but pin 9 (park neutral position switch signal) not sure where it goes. The wiring diagram i found shows it going to the brake light switch. But when I look at how to wire in the new 4 prong switch I don't see where I would need the wire from pin 9. Do I need this wire? Please help I'm lost here.
