Trans Cooler

Tune

Ive read about larger pans too. Anything else to consider? Thank you - this will be my first rebuilt tranny and stall converter

Depending on your budget, I'd go braided trans lines and an SFI rated flexplate along with the other things you mentioned.

Good stall speed choice. Get a minimum of a B&M 70264 trans cooler. I'd also highly recommend a gauge. I went with Aeroforce OBDII gauge for ease of install and for how many other things it can monitor. Get this... my trans temps ran hotter with stock converter before installing the trans cooler than it does now after trans cooler and SS3600. I installed my 70264 dope style separate from stock cooler(lots of debate about this that depends on your location and usage).

3600-3800 stall will make a huge difference in the performance of the car. If everything else seems to be in good working order the only other things I recommend is a tune, and transmission cooler.

The 36-3800 is a great choice! One of our guys here has a 3600 in his Silverado and he boils 35s like they're free, its awesome! lol

With a 36-3800 stall converter a cooler and a tune will be a must! the pan is not but it wont hurt either budget permitting(you can always add it later on). I think a good freshen up/rebuild, converter, cooler, and a tune you will be very satisfied with the results.

I see heads/cam later on, is the motor stock now? Also are you doing heavy towing?

They seem to get the best reviews/opinions on here. I figured do it right the first time.

no heavy towing. Just looking to build a respectable 400-500 HP daily driver. lol

I need to find a dependable transmission shop around Orlando. If you could PM me a quote on all of this work - I'll consider FTI. Thank You

I ran a TCI deep aluminum pan for many years. Was always careful/slow over speed bumps, but one time it touched. Was not catastrophic but some seepage occurred. Many small fractures. The car is at stock height not lowered.

I've read a bad thing or two about chrome pans and cast pans. If you do a pan, just do a truck pan. You will get larger volume and a drain plug. Of course, make sure you use the truck filter too.

+1 for the truck pan. I got mine off amazon for like $30.
