those links show how to get speedo to work with th4oo w/vss senser. what about if my th400 is cable driven? i bought a wire kit from dakota digital they said would work for my setup. just dont know where to splice the wires into on the pcm. theres 3 wires on the harness kit 1 for ground,1 for dc power and the 3rd one is for speed sensor output

Read the link tug posted. You can use the ABS Sensor with the factory VSS from your harness to make the speedo work, without messing around with the cable speedo.

You don't, you take the VSS plug in the factory harness that went to the stock trans, and plug it into the ABS sensor on the front wheel. Then you just change a couple of numbers in the ECU with HPTuners, and you have a working, accurate speedo.
