4L80E wear / past rebuild?
Guess I make it long enough just searching on tech but seems I finally have to open an account and ask a question!
Im rebuilding a 4L80E for my GTO and had a question about the veins / rests for the check *****. Not the seats on the separator plate but in the case itself the check ***** have mashed into the aluminum a bit. What are these check ball rest's / channels / whatever called?
The trans is out of a 97 diesel pickup and they guy I got it from said it goes forward fine but reverse slips.
Is this still rebuild able or will that cause issues?
What acceptable?
Here are some pictures

On another note the 2 that are the worst have an X marked next to them.
Its a reman trans from GM years back and it has not been apart since then as far as I can tell.

I also found the real reason it was pulled from the last vehicle.. Glad I found something wrong! Would have hated to put it back together without a known cause. This was the only thing I can find wrong so far.
Got a 4x4 80e from a friend today for parts. Gonna combine best parts from both and roll with it.
