Shifting from Park to Drive Issues on 4L60E
Weird problem.
Sometimes when I shift from Park to Drive, the transmission seems to slowly engage into drive which cause the idle to go up and then goes into gear, almost stalling the engine. I have a 2600 stall converter and the car runs like a bat out-a-hell, but this problem arises sometimes....not always. Now if I go from Reverse to drive and vise-versa...nothing happens - all is good - the trans goes right into gear with no issues.
Anyone have any ideas or cures???
Thanks.

I suggest connect a trans pressure gauge and documenting the pressure reading in Park, Reverse and Drive. Sounds like the pressure is very low.
Also confirm that the fluid level is topped off and the filter isn't ancient and perhaps clogged.
