Default Decode this 4L60e "4cfd020"

Can someone decode this 4l60e " 4cfd020 "

Originally I thought it came off a 97' C1500 as per the seller (Rebuilt 10K)

Sold the trans to someone with a 97' C1500 but it was noticeably different than his

He found the " 4cfd020 " serial code and told me it was for a 94' Chevy C3500

Can someone kindly validate this? Also provide some info such as what years are interchangeable, what truck models it's interchangeable with, and worth?

If it's a '94, I think it's pretty much only compatible with other '94 parts. Maybe some from '95. The first two years ('94-'95) of the 4l60e were weird years until it became more settled with the '96, which changed again in '98 I think and uses a different input shaft.

mrvedit and the expert mechanics on the forum could tell you for certain.

Okay but does a C3500 and C1500 share the same 4l60e RWD?

The leading "4" tells us its either 1994 or 2004.
Assuming the case includes the bell housing (and not separate), it is definitely a 1994.

What are you intentions with it. As said, it basically only works with a '94 PCM. It won't work with a LS-engine PCM. Maybe if the pump and valve body were significantly upgraded or modified, but be more trouble/expense than its worth.

Thanks for replying. The 4l60e is not for the LS at all. I'm trying to figure out what the rest of the code exactly means - so I can sell it to the appropriate buyer - to help fund my LS project.

This thread lists the 4CFD as coming from various GM 2500 trucks:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...-came-out.html

The "4" means 1994, the "D" means 4L60E and the "CF" is the vehicle.

This site might help you decode the "020":
