Default TH-400 xmember lt1/ls1??

Why is it that BMR/PATC/yank, etc makes TH-400 crossmembers for ls1 Fbody cars but not LT-1 F-bodies?? Whats the damn difference?? I guess I will just get a damn ole t56 and do some fabing to it and make it work like everyone else.

There shouldn't be any difference. They sell a tubular one to make up for the difference in the gap between the M6 and the transmount. About 1-1/2" or so. Just stick a chunk of metal tubing in between the trans and the mount and you'll be fine.

Just intalled my TH-400 --- from an M6. I just used the M6 one and like derty said, just modified a "chunck" of steel. Works great.

I assume you both have LS-1 though. Im not saying that its not done everyday for LT-1 cars, just that the makers of aftermarket xmembers dont offer them for LT-1's only LS-1's and I dont see a difference between the two. But I will call madman and see if I can get him to set me straight.

Well I called Brian at Madman racing and he said the difference is that the ls1 cars have slightly different bolt patterns for the crossmemeber than the LT-1's had. And that nobody really is concerned about fabbing one up b/c the market is in the LS-1 cars right now. I will definatly have to order some stuff from him, they are very down to earth and seem to know there stuff. Great guy to talk too.
