Default will tci ssf shave as much et off as a yank tc?

i see the tci is much much cheaper, i am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but sometimes this isnt true. if i got a tci ssf 3500 or a yank 3500 would i get as good of results from the tci as i would the yank? why is yank so much more if it isnt better, i damn sure know their customer service isnt good. would the tci be as streetable as the yank?

The Yank SS series is very tight feeling for a given stall speed. I would think that the TCI should perform pretty close but may give up some feel and efficency, depending upon the models being compared. At 3600/3800 you may notice less difference, with theYank being a little tighter.

Once you hit the serious performance range (SS4000 and YTP series) IMO the benefits of a Yank really show up. Also, for the lower end of the range (e.g. TT2800 - 3000 3.0str) for a tight converter for a 2.73 gear car, Yank is very hard to beat.

Bluecam96,
The primary difference between the Yank and TCI 3500 converters is that the Yank comes standard with a billet cover. It's an option on our TCI converter. If you plan on locking the converter clutch at WOT, I would recommend that option. Just like Ragtop99 said, Yank does make a good street converter, but for the serious race stuff, TCI has proven itself for over 35 years. The Texas Speed LS1 Z28 won Factory Stock last fall with one of our 4400 racing converters. FeartheLS1 (Lee) won Factory Stock at the recent N vs S Shootout with one of our converters. In your case I'd recommend TCI. You can e-mail me at kevin@tciauto.com and I'll make sure that you're getting the right converter for your car.

My TCI SSF 3500 shaved .9 second on dry N20 and .6x on N/A.
That is with stock cam/no headers and a few bolt ons.
I like my TCI.
