I broke my trans from hard launches on my Vig3200 and ET Streets, took out my 10-bolt too. That was about 40K after I installed my Vig. Recently the trans also took out my Vig3200 after 80K miles of great service, but that was due to the guy that rebuilt my trans the first time ... he didn't know squat about 4L60Es and claimed to have beefed it up. My Vig3200 lasted almost three years, could have been more though.

2 months and 2000 miles no problems yet, except for torque management!

Lets see, 70k on the clock when my tranny blew up. Blew up a Yank converter on the dyno after 1.5 years, now I have 6 months on my replacement Yank and the lockup clutch is going out.

I've had my MW 3400 for about 8 months. Car bogs down from a 10-15mph punch...hard to explain. Torque management is bad at times. All most likely fixable from tuning.

Other then that it's been great for me.

Blew the tranny at 18,000 miles. Then the VIG gave up with about 6,000 on it. All is looking good now.

So basically look at a converter like a clutch with how often it needs replaced?

No, not really ... a converter should last a long time, much like a trans, engine or diff. Some of these guys have had bad luck with their converter, much like people with clutches. If you beat on it hard alot, it will break ... but if you are moderate with it, it will last you a long time. Also remember to instal a B&M oil cooler to protect the trans and keep those temps down.
