have a vig3200 and with et streets it wines out in rpm from 1000 to red line.how do you make these things hit like they should.at the track it did not seem to stall but only ramp up as if stock verter.car did a 12.9 1/4 with a 2 for a 60 ft. , never had a tc before so do not know what is normal????

this car moves from 0 rpm to wot , is it suppose to slam at 32-3600 rpm???? i can not get this car to flash . if i sit at the lights with 1000 rpm and floor it it simply grabs gear right away and rolls off.is it suppose to go to 32-3600 and then hit?????

No, all converters do not just jump up to there rated stall (you need a trans brake for that), they flash up around their rated stall, depending on traction, gearing and track prep. How was your burnout? short or long, was the track prepped? Most converters will creep up at any rpm, my Vig3200 would do it, heck even my TCI4400 creeps forward.

mine does the exact same thing!! u described it perfectly it rolls up....i thought that it would stall up to 3600 then hit the tires.
so how do we get these cars to stall up?

i don't think i fully understand how a verter works. the car tachs are slow but on the brakes at 1000 rpm i floor it and ya can watch the tach go up as fast as the engine ramps up.i thought the car would freewheel to stall speed and engage the tires at 32-3600 rpm?????

I used to have a Yank stl 3200, And it would spin up to 3200 & hit really hard. (hard to get a good hook with nitto's) Swap out to a Vig 3200 & you cann't tell when it hits, but you can control it alot more. With the summer weather here in Florida im always cutting 1.80

I think you have some misconceptions. Your motor does not need to spin to 3200rpm before it moves an inch. Thats not the way stalls work. A stall is "looser" than a factory TC. Part throttle driving you should see 500-800 rpm increase in rpm's during accleration. When you flash a t/c from idle to WOT the rpms should jump to 3200 or so AS you start moving, not before.

my vig 3200 stalls to about 3800 rpm. if i hit it off the line, it will IMMEDIATELY jump up past 3500 or so RPM and blow the tires clean off....also flashing the converter from a very slow roll produces a VERY VIOLENT hit...you might have a defective converter.

Put the car in gear and hold the brakes. Apply the throttle slowly and note waht rpm the tires break loose and start to spin. Should be around 2800 to 3200. If they break loose before that it is not workin properly.

With my Vig3200 as soon as I go WOT it's over 3000rpm & shift extension around 4500rpm. I notice that you have a 410 rear, That will make feel alot tighter. You should be putting down better times. Im running stock internal's with a consitant 8.01 1/8 time, (12.5 - 12.6 1/4 mile). You need to shift as high as possible. My shift is set 6300. Also becareful of Taylor wires, I had 2 set's with 3 wires with very high ohms..
