Default th-350 convertor question...

doing a custom ls1 swap and want to use my existing th-350. the convertor hub doesn't reach the back of the crank. the engine is a 6.0L. what are my options? i did a search and see some guys talking about a spacer. could anyone be more specific as to what exactly i need(certain flexplate, spacer, special convertor, etc.) also has anyone successfully drilled and tapped the "missing" bellhousing hole or is there not enough "meat" there? thanks.

I'm making a "spacer" to allow the converter to engage. It basically consists of a pilot that engages the existing crank snout, goes through the flexplate, and extends with a 1.700 ID to allow the converter to engage the spacer. I'll take a pic when it's done.

well, here's what it looks like. The spacer engages the converter perfectly (.001" slip fit to nose of the converter).

nice fabrication. i bought a spacer and matching bolts from a gm dealer buddy and i'm hoping they work. if not i may be giving you some business, lol. i just discovered tonight that there is 2 different flexplates so that might be another issue, i probably have the wrong one.
