Default Tranny not working after install

Just put a new motor in my car and bolted everything back up, but now the tranny isn't moving at all. There is fluid in it so I'm not sure what the problem is. The shifter linkage is hooked up and moving fine. Any ideas on what could be wrong because this car will not move at all, and when I put it in gear, I can tell it isn't engaging because the RPMs dont drop or move at all.

Don't be offended by the questions, but did you bolt the torque converter up to the flexplate? Was the T/C removed from the tranny input shaft? If it was, are you sure it was reinstalled properly, ie. engaging the pump correctly? Is there fluid in the tranny? I'm guessing the tranny worked OK before the engine replacement?

Tranny was fine before the replacement and I didn't touch the torque converter when we unistalled it. Would it have worked its own way out? It's bolted up and we are in the process of checking to see if it's seated properly. And yeah, there's plenty of fluid in the tranny. Thanks!

What was the outcome of this?
Was it the torque converter?

We found out that becuase it wasn't seated correctly, the TC grounded out the keyways that are on the input shaft, so that now it slides on and off freely. I have no idea how much that will cost to fix, but we're going to try to do it ourselves.
