FLP vs. Rossler vs. Local tranny shop + parts ??
Hey all,
My plan was to do a few light mods and then quit. I, uh, slipped a little and am now in the spot where those few "light" mods are gonna put my tranny in the dirt.
DOH! Forgot to mention: 408 will be 9:1, Boost will be 15 psi+ (running meth). No idea of the HP numbers yet, but far far outside the range of the stock 4L65E ( I hope ) This is my daily driver, so I am interested in performance and durability.
I need some input on the age old questions:
To buy an FLP or not to buy an FLP?
To buy a Rossler or not to buy a Rossler?
To go to a local shop and put in upgraded parts or not to [...]?
If you've done any of these, please pipe up and let me know your experiences. If you've got an opinion, opine away, just please let me know its opinion rather than direct experience.
TIA

neither... u will be rebuilding your 4l60e in less then 6mo if u take it to the track at all much or run a sticky tire...
i've had a rossler they make good stuff... but no matter who makes it any kind of power w/ slicks equals rebuild in short time
but from your choices Rossler

rosslers 2295 unit is the same as thir 2695 unit minus their own special clutches...and that may hold for a seaon from what Carl says. Rock-on is a great guy, never used his trannys though. Pro-built was also great to talk with, but over 650 and he admits any 4l60 lifespan could be less than a few dozen times down the track w/ slicks. You simply can not buy all the pats Rossler would install...cause they made some and dont sell them to the public.... 4l80 time
