Default trans cooler inlet/outlet lines same as 4l80E?

meaning the same outlet/return of the trans cooler lines. the cooler's install instructions didn't have the 4l60E so i assumed it was the same as the 4l80E's lines. it is like 95* out today but after my torque converter, trans cooler, and shift kit install my car seems to run a little hotter than usual, up around 200* when normal is around 170-180*.

if the lines were reversed would it cause the car to run hotter? can the lines being reversed damage anything?..

thanks in advance.

cool- a stupid question answered by myself- they are in fact the same. i went as far as to switch the lines up and then trace them back to the transmission to see that they were fine the way they were.

i answered this post for search purposes.

Not exactly. The quick-disconnects and line size are the same, but the fluid inlet on the back instead of up front like the 60. Also, the position of the forward port (outlet) is not the same as the 60.

The old case style 4L80-E (1996 and older) has both line ports in the front, but that version does not use use the same linkage as the 60 and therefore doesn't work for these swaps.

so what your saying is that the fluid feed line that goes to the cooler is the forward and slightly higher disconnect port. but the port that is further back about 3 inches or so and slightly lower is the return???? I am having cooler problems. HELP.
