Default Fact or fiction: Do Yank converters really come with 1 free restall?

Ive always got the impression that Yank comes with 1 free restall. I believe Ive even read it here on the board on a few occassions. I wanted to ask this and find out the truth. If it is false, how did it come about? Did Yank used to do 1 free restall? If so, when did they stop and why? I would think that Yank would still do it, dont see why they would do away with that privalege. Anyhow, I know there is a converter company that offers this, which one(s) is it? Just wanted to set things straight. Thanks.

I don't so, I don't recall that being offered. Precision Industries does give customers one free re-stall.

So Yank has never offered that or discontinued that offer? For those that have sent one back to be restalled, how much does it cost? Thanks.

I paid $125 to have a ST3500 restalled to a ST3800. That included the shipping back to me. I think I it cost around $20 to ship it to them. I questioned your Yank Free Restall in your for sale thread one time but you just deleted and reposted the same thing like you always do.

I think the price depends on what converter you have and what you want to make it into and what parts are required for the change. When I had PY3400e re stalled Mike said he could make it a PY3600 py3800 sy3500 or sy4000, but not a PT4000.

I just talked with them yesterday afternoon about refreshing my converter (PY3400) and possibly restalling it when I put in my new tranny. They told me that refreshening it was a really good idea when installing a new tranny especially since my current one is slipping a bit in Drive. Also it would be 200 dollars for this service. When I questioned them about restalling it they said it would be approximately an additional 75 dollars for this service. So 275 total??? No free restall.

I recall restalls being in the $150 to $250 range depending on what was being done to it.

So what kind of warranty does Yank offer? I cant seem to sell my Yank SS4000, I wonder if they could change it over to a PT4400? If that is possible and isnt any more than $300, then I might just do that.

Even if its more than $300 is better than not being able to sell your old converter (which you currently and in the past have not) and still cheaper than buying a new PT4400 which is what you want.

Yank is answering the phone at their new facility. Judging by the replies here, there is a wide range of costs to restall depending on the converter and what you want done to it. That is why only Yank can answer his questions. Maybe the converter hasn't sold because there is a very limited market on this board for a 200-4R converter or it is priced too high.

FYI I had my Pye3600 restalled to a PYE4200. I had to pay shipping there which was $20, the re-stall was $125, and it was sent back to me via COD for another $20. So total I spent $165.
