Default Converters - how many miles

I hear all this stuff of re-stalls and upgrades to race only converters.
Who has the most miles and launches on any aftermarket converter
What stall and what kind of lockup clutch.
I believe the converters last about as long as the transmission
One will take the other eventually,so how many trouble free miles.

i had a PT4400 in my car for about 20,000 miles with about every weekend going to the track and many street races before it finally went out but it was due to the tranny breaking.

I have over 10k miles on my PT4200. The transmission itself has been ruined twice in those 10k miles and the converter is still going strong.

sounds as if the converters are ripping apart the transmissions
I'll cross my fingers with my vig 3200.

alot depends on the driver. granted veters do stress the trans more but driving habits most of the time will screw things up.

I had a used (2600 miles when I bought it on here back in early-2002) Vig3200 installed at 30K miles. It went through a trans blow up at about 60K (late-2002), then it finally died at 115K miles (mid-2004). So my Vig3200 lasted for 88K miles! It would have lasted longer had I not have taken it to the track pretty much every weekend, it was cutting low 1.7s initially. Recently it was cutting mid 1.6s on ET Streets. I was not babied by a very long shot, I put it through the ringer and got 10x my money's worth out of it. Well over 300 passes on the 1/4 mile, 5 or so Autocross events, and about 6 hours of WOT operation at a road race event. Talk about abusing a car, let alone an SS. Best damned converter I have ever used, I highly recommend the Vig3200s for bolt-on street/strip cars.
