edit: after lookin into it some more(i have an m6, so yea) you'd prolly be better off with a 3800. stick with the 3.42s or go with 3.73 gears, and that will help make up for the 'verter bein a little looser. you'll have to ask some of these auto guys on which tc is more 'street friendly'.
if you post this in the automatic tranny section, you might get a better response. just a thought.

I may be out in the weeds on this one but the moment you say "streetable" I start thinking lower. If your driving it on the streets a lot then I wouldn't go above a 3000 or 3200 max.

Mods in sig. Mines not that bad. It has some bucking between 35-40mph. but I just drop it in drive. Then shift to overdrive Once I get going. Other than that it drives great.

I'm running a TCI Competition 3800 in my '02 SS with heads/cam and 3.23's, and it's great! I took it on an 800-mile trip this past weekend, and I managed to knock down 25.5 MPG! I drive my SS everyday, and the 3800 is very streetable for me. However, I've been known to run a 4600 stall in the past, so the 3800 is more than streetable for me. FYI, I'm running our 231/231 112 LSA camshaft in my SS, and it works great with the 3800. My shift extensions with the 3.23:1 gearing are at 5,000 RPM, so you would be right around 5,100-5,200 RPM with your slightly steeper gearing. You could even run a TCI SSF 3500 if you wanted to. It would retain plenty of drivability for the street, but a higher stall will benefit you more at the track.

i have a vig 3800 and i love it works great on the street.mpg aint **** though but very steetable and if you up the gear you will really love it.3800 is a very good stall speed due to the fact that it's not to high and not to low also mines grabs like a 2500 stall unless it's at full throttle it grabs really early hope that helps.....

Not much for comparison but I have a Vig3200 and a 224/224 114 cam and I can't complain a bit as far as streetability goes. I want to up the stall to a 3800 and go with a bigger cam as wekk in the future... be my test bunny!
