Angry 1-2 shift problem PLEASE HELP

I just installed a vortech system on my 2000 z28 and got my computer tuned by ed wright. I drove it yesterday and everything felt good shifts were fine. I have been doing some good burnouts and now my car doesn't want to shift into second. I can hold the throttle at high rpm and it will evetually shift but it takes a long time and definitely isn't right. After it does shift everything feels fine. It doesn't feel like it is slipping but I have no clue what's wrong. I did a heavy burnout prior to the problem bgut I heard nothing or felt nothing that would give me a clue. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Mike

Now taht I think about itI don't know if it is just skipping second and going to third? I haven't drove it much like this. I tried to manually shift it from first to second and nothing happened. Please help!

Unhappy

I have a definite idea of what is going on now. I can take off in drive and let off the gas and it will then shift to second and then the shifts from 2-3 and 3-4 are fine. Could this be my shift solenoid or accumulator? Any ideas and advice would be nice.

thanks,

Mike

How does the 3-4 shift feel under moderate load? Is it soft?
If you manually shift from first to second and wind out first gear and let off, will it shift w/ the shifter still in second?

well 3-4 shift feels good under any load light to heavy. The thing is I can't shift manually from first to second it won't let me it just stays in first. It seems it's only the 1-2 2-1 shifts that have trouble the rest are fine. Thanks for the response.

Try changing the 1-2 shift solenoid and the trans filter while you have the pan off. The solenoid and filter are cheap, the fluid is the most expensive. Similar thing happened to me but it was the 2-3 shift.

I thought the shift solenoids were "A" and "B"
1st gear.....on on
2nd gear.....off on
3rd gear......off off
4th gear......on off

Do you have an aftermarket converter? It might be simple as lowering the 1-2 shift points. I had the same problem with my 98, it banged the limiter untill lowered both the mph and rpm shift pt. Although with yours there would be no mph setting, 98's are odd *****.
