Problem with my 4L60E
I have a FLP biult 4L60E in my car. Recently, I went to the track and ran it a couple times. On my last run, I lost 2nd gear. It was working fine all day, no slipping and good crisp hard shifts. When I went to leave the track, I realized I lost 2nd. All it does is slip. I can drive the car fine, I just have to go fast enough in 1st, that when I let off the gas it goes right to 3rd instead of 2nd. Otherwise, everything is fine. I checked the fluid, which is full and doesn't smell burnt, and has a nice color to it still.
I am thinking that the problem is the servo, since that it really the only thing that could affect only 2nd gear. Any other opinions?

If you spray and race a lot, no 4l60 will hold up for very long - don't matter who builds it. They are just a weak tranny. If your going to do a lot of thrashing on your car on spray, I wouldn't spend another penny on the tranny. Get a bullet proof th350 with 3:23 gears. Thats what Im going to do WHEN mine breaks.

The trans is plenty strong enough to handle the power my car is making on the bottle. It's not the trans I was dissatisfied with, it was the service I received. I'm not going to go into details about it, I'll just say I was not happy.
At this point, my car is a daily driver all year round, so a TH350 or 400 is not an option.

Try these guys! They can help you with the 4L60E, or take you the direction you need. They sell alot of parts for strengthening the 4L60E. Good Luck!
