Default Overkill?

My tranny and went out the crapper in the last 2 months or so. Started havin major slippage problems on the 65mph punch and 25mph. I was lookin at the yank site and saw their sportsman pro 4L60E...is this overkill for my car? Also saw the Pure & Street EVIL 4L60E on the speed Inc site, that looked very tempting. If so and i just do a small rebuild on my current tranny please tell me what I need to buy to beef it...clueless on trannies.

Check out www.notasponsor.com

It is a nice tranny. I have the Performance version rated to 450HP, which I won't ever even see. He has a pretty good reputation, and is like $$$$ + shipping and core (but you get the core charge back).... but since you live in Ga you will see a little sales tax added to that.

I would also recommend Team Tripp. Talk to Bernard, he knows his stuff when it comes to trannies. I just drove down and had him swap mine out.

Im about to check out the website yo uguys recommended. i looked on gm parts direct and the damne 4L60E stock tranny is over 1400! The strret evil beefed up tranny on speed inc website is less. And the tranny recommened by the last two guys was way less! So should I just go with one of these two beefed trannies or am I just missin somethin?

I'd look @ Rossler and FLP as a tranny alternative also.

Do a search in this forum. Those guys over there are great. They will take care of you.

Please refrain from posting links and pricing if the company is not a sponsor, THANKS

By the sounds of it you are doing alot of WOT downshifts and from what i've heard most built trannys don't handle hard downshifts very well, they will take WOT upshifts like a champ all day. I'm not to big on running the 1/4mi a whole lot but it gets abused on the streets quite a bit so the tranny see plenty of WOT downshifts and my 4th to 2nd downshift slippes a little now (the closer I get to the top of 2nd on the downshift the worse it is...70mph max anything over is 4th to 3rd) So what can we do to build a tranny that can take hard downshifts?? Thanks
