question on stock convertor
okay, so i used to have a 2800 TC in my car(i dont know the brand because the TC was in the car when i bought it).....it musta been a faulty part, because it blew 2 trannies(thank you warranty though! $200 a tranny!)....now i have gone back to a stock TC, and am saving for a SSF 3500 TC....i took the car out to the track Friday night....and the best i was pulling was a 13.0 1/4 time .....this was also done with drag radials, that were basically slicks coz they have no tread left on them.......i had spinning issues when i launched the car...especially after stalling up to about 1500 rpm...i also found out that i have a minor leak in my custom welded ORYP(not really concerned about it because i decided to order a Hooker ceramic coated 3" ORYP)...my best 1/4 time with a 2800 stall was a 12.6.......could it be that the stock stall has added that much time to my 1/4 passes???? my mods are listed in my signature...except that i dont have the torque arm installed yet.....thats getting done this coming tuesday....

i knew that it would add time to my 1/4 passes...well i just did the math....13.1-0.7=12.4.....so that sounds about right.....never realized until now how much time a stock convertor adds on......just wanted to see if there was possibly something wrong with the car...i just thought that i would at least still be in the high 12's with a stock convertor....
