Default "plastic bushings" in 4L60E ?

Where are the "plastic bushings" in the 4L60E - one of the rebuild shops I spoke to said they would replace them as part of a heavy duty build-up.

Is it worth replacing them ? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone breaking them before...

Anyone know about them ?

There are a few plastic thrust washers. The two most common to replace with Torrington bearings are between the reaction carrier shaft and the sunshell, and between the sunshell and the lo-roller inner race. The whole point was to try and take heat away from the spline of the sunshell, but with a beefy sunshell, its not really needed.

They maybe talking about the teflon coated bushing in the pump, thats one I'd get rid of for sure, also alot of talk about the plastic accumlator pistons; again something we'd dump on all rebuilds. I'm not aware of any plastic bushings, if your guys are talking about plastic bushings I'd move with caution.....hope this helps..Dave
