Default Can you spray on a Yank PT4400? Has anyone done this?

I know the Yank PT4400 isnt the best nitrous converter, but can it be sprayed? If so, has anyone done so? What kind of times? My plans for now are to stay naturally aspirated, that is why I went the PT4400 route. However, as I look at 01-Z's times (currently the fastest naturally aspirated cam only and nitrous assisted F-body), he has extremely good (best) times with and without nitrous. Having a set up like his would be awesome. As far as I know, he holds the fastest cam only LS1 F-body naturally aspirated and with nitrous. Anyhow, I wanna be in the 10s naturally aspirated when I get the car back together, but seeing 9s would be nice with a shot of juice. I dont plan on spraying anytime soon, but was just curious if the Yank PT4400 could handle a 150 shot and if anyone has done this? Thanks.

It's not a matter of the converter holding together under the stress of the nitrous, it's a matter of spraying through your RPM band. A 4400 RPM stall converter will stall to that speed with a given amount of torque. When you add another 100+ ft/lbs of torque to the equation, the stall speed and shift extentions raise as well.

I had a buddy that tried spraying on either a Vigilante or a Yank 4400 stall, and his results were less than stellar. He went back to a 3200 and had much better results. It's all dependant on your combination.

I tried spraying thru mine and with a 100 shot I got 2mph and about 2 tenths. The converter is made for NA not for a power adder. Stay NA with that converter otherwise get one made for nitrous.

Just wasnt giving me the times that I wanted. It was too tame for me. Getting a little more serious with the car and the SS4000 was a middle of the road converter in my eyes. Trying to hit 10s naturally aspirated cam only and the SS4000 wont get me there. Its a nice converter if you wanna keep your car strip/street, but not for me anymore.

I used to spray my PT4400 with a 150 shot all the time. Was it an ideal verter, no. Did it work decent, full weight bolt-on SS with that verter and a 150 shot went 10.9x's @ 125 many times, answer is yes. FWIW the best my car ran off the bottle was 12.1 @ 111 also. I say try it out.

SmokinV8 said it best. You need to be prepared to handle the increased rpm your converter will be flashing to. If you can handle 6800-7000 rpm, then you can spray a 200 shot on this converter. You will fly, but you will break stuff (valve train related) if you're not prepared for it.

Buy the PT4400 from hellbent and I'll swap you my PT4000. I'm not sure where Friendswood is but I am in Arlington.
