I'd think you would need to fab up some kind of kickdown cable setup from the throttle linkage, I think the 700R4 uses a kickdown cable setup for WOT downshifts. (I remember having to adjust it several cars ago on my 88 IROC).
...or you could just install a fully manual valve body and not worry about kickdown.
I believe they are "mechanically" the same transmission for the most part though, 4L60E being the electronically controlled version (lockup, line pressure, etc)... I'm pretty sure the 700R4 is vacuum referenced.
Not sure about converter/flywheel.
Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.

If you get the right year combination you can get a completely non electric one. I have one with mechanical speedo, non lockup 2400rpm stall and cable kick down for a carb. I had it on my Nova before I put in a 6-spd. I'm selling it if you want one but it's in AZ and I bet shipping would be a bitch. Has about 10,000 on a full HO rebuild. $600

you dont want a 700r4 they are junk my buddy put one in his monte and it was a rebuilt one he spent 600 to rebuild it and it blew up they arnt ment to handle alot of power put a turbo 350 or a turbo 400 in it will last no matter how much power there is
