Default Anyone heard of an Art Carr stall?

Just wondering if anybodies heard of one of these? If they're rated at say a 3600 do they actually brake stall to 3600 and flash higher say to like 4200 like a vigalante. Are they good stall converters? Any info appreciated

I had an Art Carr 9" 3500 Stall in my old 87' GN. It was a beast. It foot-stalled to around 3400 or so before mad boost kicked in and all hell broke loose. I liked it. From everyone I've spoken to in the GN world they are reputable-as far as Ls1s, not too sure. Hope I helped.

I have always heard good things about Art Carr products, mentioned in Car Craft and Hot Rod numerous times. Dunno about the LS1 stuff though.

If your talking about the one on ebay that's the same one i'm wondering about. I've been looking into buying a stall for a while now and i'm finally getting some money in to do so. I've been wanting a Vig. 3600 but if i can find another stall that's just as good for cheaper then i'll buy it.

But i don't think they'll foot stall as high as i'm wanting. I'd like to be able to foot stall to atleast 3200 if not a little more

Art Carr stall ate my tranny about 3 years ago. The company has changed hands a few times, and I wouldn't do it. Unless it is cheap enough to justify the gamble, I would not go there.

Did you get your stall through Texas or through California?

Did you have the stall professionally installed? This is my verter we're talking about here, and I never had a problem with it. Granted, it wasn't in the car too long, but I liked it. Couple of my friends have run these for quite a while, and none of them have ever had any issues. They also have built-up trannies, so maybe it was just time for yours to go.

git_sum - if you want the stall, I'll end the auction early and ship it to you for 400.00 flat. I just need to get it out of the garage.
