Questions about Multidisk Vigilantes
I have read that the multidisk Vig converters advertised stall is a lot closer to actual stall than the single disk converters and also that they are much tighter when driving around - is this true on both accounts? Are people generally going with the 3 disk or the 5 disk, and what is the difference and what are each designed to do? Lastly, does anyone know if there is an upgrade option of sending in any old Vig and getting it upgraded with the multidisk and a new stall? TIA

mine is a vig 3200 mulit...stall seemed about 3200. I just got it back and had is stalled to around 3800. I'd call Precision Industries and ask about the upgrade. My 3200 is pretty tight around town. I know guys can tell it has a stall but 2 women couldn't with a loud exhaust and you know they would bitch if they could

I called Jack at PI he advised that the multi disc set up is for locking up the converter during 2nd & 3rd gear. If you just what to lockup in 3rd the single disc is ok. With a 3200 you might not see any gain by doing this, But would help if your spraying. He quoted me to reflash mine to a 3800 would cost $250 or to reflash it & add the multi disc $350.

3 disc is only available for LS1, not 5 disc....I have a BRAND NEW one coming my way, and I can still order any stall I want. I am going a different way with my car, and will be selling this $1,000 converter for $720 shipped.
