Default Tci Ssf 3500

I ordered a SSF 3500 TC about two weeks ago and like everything else I ever order it is on back order. Thunder Racing tells me "another day or two" every couple days, does anyone have any insider info from TCI as to how long they actually will be on back order. I am due to move soon and can't wait forever. Not flaming Thunder either.

Typically, when you order the TC from the vendor, they put the order in immediately to TCI and TCI drop ships it directly to you. I got mine about four days after I ordered it. Kevin Winstead can tell you if there's a supply problem at the factory.

Drop the TCI and get a VIG 3200. I fried my TCI 3500 one year after install (slipping).
The VIG is sooo much better, not to mention 2 year warranty and 1 free restall in case you go bigger on cam)

Kevin has good customer service, yes but it is like Patriot, a hit and miss game. With my TCI, I missed.

Just because you had a problem that does not mean that TCI quality is “hit or miss”. It simply means you might have received the one bad one out of 1000s of good ones. Every product has a certain failure rate.
There are many more satisfied TCI customers than unsatisfied ones.

Your comparison of TCI quality to Patriot quality is way off base and totally incorrect.
There is no need to be over dramatic.

I do agree that the Vig3200 is a great converter and PI also has great customer service.

well- i can see how you get pissed when a product fails- but like i said, **** happens and kevin @tci is hooking me up with a free re-stall and lockup clutch since mine burnt out soo quick.. now THAT is standing behind your product if you ask me.

why not do a search on this subject to make your final decision- don't take everybody's word for everything. look into STR and other factors (i think the tci is higher than the vig, meaning it is tighter and more streetable, but hits harder and can spin more... dunno, but why not do some research while you didn't spend any $ yet).

He won't stand behind your tranny when it fries due to converter chatter or slippage.

(i think the tci is higher than the vig, meaning it is tighter and more streetable, but hits harder and can spin more... dunno, but why not do some research while you didn't spend any $ yet).
Vig 3200 2.5str, flashes on my car at 3600, I can brake stall to 3200 (try that with a TCI)

I agree with make your own decisions. Do some research as to what parts are inside TCI (and outside) and do the same for VIG. See for yourself.
Then 90 days TCI limited warranty and 24 month (unlimited) VIG with 1 free restall.

The only reason I bought TCI is they are cheaper, cheap is rarely better. You be the judge.
