TH400 has only 3 gears, there is no OD so it cant lock up. The only option really is a GV overdrive kit.

I've heard of several people with lock up TH-400s. Infact Big Mike has one in his 9.40 Camaro. He said that the car is not that bad on the highway.

BTW: I believe they have to modify the valve body to do it so the builder need to know ahead of time.

There is no such thing as a th400 with a lock up torque converter.

There's variable pitch, there are th350's with lock up, but no th400's with lock up.
Someone can make a converter for it sure, but then they would also need to modify the transmission to apply a clutch in the converter.

a lock up convertor is money wasted for people like us. you can get a custom convertor that will stall nicely, yet feel like a stocker untill you load it hard. I had a custom built 4000 stall in a pro-street car that I used to own. it would go 3800 on the foot brake, yet felt like stock driving it around. better yet, get a transbrake so you can stretch it at the track and it still be tight driving around. that is what I am going to do when I put a yank th400 swap in my c5.
