Default About to put my converter in

Probelly gonna put my TCI 3500 in, in a few weeks. Never droped a auto done a few 6 speed drops. Is it any harder what are some things i need to look out for. And is there a website with some tourqe specs on bolts? Also kind of off topic with that converter and 3.23 should i run some et streets or a drag radial. Probelly gone be sparying a 50 shot on it too.

Thanks

If you've done t-56's this should be cake! We put the same verter you got in, and what a difference it made. Also do a trans cooler at the same time if funds are there. They say to drill the flywheel bolt holes from 3/8 to 7/16 for their verter, and "locktite" the bolts no biggie . Definitly get some tires you'll need them!

Make sure you get the converter seated all the way in the trans.

You should feel 3 clicks as you put the converter in the tranny. When you put the trans back up to the engine, you should have a little more than an 1/8" between the converter and the flexplate so you can slide it forward.

yea while your pushin it on and spinnin it, make sure that you feel three different clicks as said before. and it doenst matter if you go with et streets or radials. both will do you good.. but the radials are showing to be hookin better than et streets from what i have read. and you dont have to worry about drivin around in the rain on the radials either

As you can see by my sig. I also have 3.23's with a SSF3500. You will definately need some sort of stickies as you will now be blowing the hides off the tires. You will need to drill at least one of the holes on your flexplate. Otherwise, pretty straightforward install. Loving every minute of mine.

The TCI's use larger bolts than the factory, so one of the holes in the flexplate IIRC is too small. I found this out after I had the trans all bolted up. I just grabbed a dremel and widened one of the holes a little bit with the trans bolted up since I didn't feel like pulling the transmission back out to drill it.

I don't think it's a problem with other converter brands.

You wont have to tap the holes, the bolts dont thread into the flexplate.
