What gear placement?

What gear placement? on a Dyno would i put it in Overdrive (Pontiac D-camaro OD) or Drive (Pontiac 3- Camaro D)? how do you dyno wiht an auto, neve seen it done will be my first time this spring when i get my headers installed and a tune
what bout at the track? Drive or Overdrive? does that extra gear affect the ratio or steepness of each gear? or it stays the same jsut eliminates the gear? i still havent figured out whats best

put it in 3 on pontiac and D on camaro. 3rd is the 1:1 ratio to dyno in and it should take you to 120-130mph so you probly won't hit the end of the gear in the 1/4 unless you are heavily modified.
