I just started to notice that in this colder weather (when I don't warm my truck in the morning) the torque converter takes a while to lock up. Being the **** guy that I am, I got a bit worried. But, after seaching around here a bit I found out that the converter is designed to remain unlocked until the transmission fluid reaches a desired operating temperature.

Now the question is, what is that temperature. I found in another post that for 2001-2002 vehicles the lock up temperature is 68 deg F. However, I connected my Autotap to my truck this morning and it seemed that the converter started to lock around 75-78 deg F, with an engine temperature of around 180 deg F. The reason for the temperature window is because I didn't log the run, I just kept on glancing at the laptop as I drove to work.

Does anyone know the exact lock up temperature for 2004 trucks?
