Default Anybody run a coan convertor

Im getting ready to put a turbo 400 in my car and was wondering if anybody try there convertors.I filled out there car spec sheet and they posted back telling me to run a 8 inch convertor 4500 to 5500 stall For max et.And i even said that im running a 300shot off the t brake.Just seems like a more all out race convertor.Whats your thoughts.

I am running on of their converters. I have the 8 inch with steel stator, it is suposed to stall at 5200 behind a 360 with a 300 shot. I bought the converter before I had the motor done for the car. It was on a mild head and cam setup and stalled at about 4000 with a 150 shot. The converter is suprisingly streetable all things considered. I think that it is more of an all out race converter but I was able to live with it on the street.

I would personally go with a Neal Chance, if you are wanting the best money can buy. Great guy with a great product. Give me a call for pricing.

I have a COAN and love it,doesn't even feel like a high stall until you WOT,then it smokes 1st - 2nd and half of 3rd,,,,they are more race oriented than the popular brands. If there is a choice to make they will lean to the performance side Vs the street side.

Would buy another anytime!!!!!!

5500 is awfully high unless you spin to over 7000 rpm or maybe if you were using a PG instead of the T400.

With a 300 shot, you can optimize for NA or spray, but not both. Pick your strategy before you order.
