Get it! The streetability is awesome compared to most because it feels nice and tight. Its also great because it has a nice lock up clutch that engauges quickly.
Now, if this is going into a "track only" kind of car, you will be better off with the PT series of converters. The SS series is almost as good but if you want all out performance, get the PT.
As for track numbers, I've cut a best 60' of 1.74 so far on some bald nittos and with very minor mods.

This is my daily driver so I'm really concerned about driveability. Do you have trans. coolers as well?

You should have a cooler with any high stall.

GET IT!!! You will love it. I have it in mine and it made a huge difference. Still has great driveability (sp?) around town and is killer from any MPH or RPM Thats with 3.23's, stock cam, and no tuning. I do have a cooler on it and I keep an eye on the trans temp..it seems to be doing well so far. Have had it in maybe 8 months

p.s. dropped .7 in the 1/4

STR of 2.55 on my SS3800. I was going to go with a SS3600, but got my SS3800 for $550 with less than a 1000 miles on it. The previous owner swapped to a M6.

Same here with the SS3800. Its only .05 more STR so it doesn't really matter. I was actually going to go with the 3600 at first but my gf convinced me to go bigger and not settle

Everyone that has a covertor always say to go one bigger than what you want. I was thinking of something around 3200 at first and decided 3600 with the one up theory. In the end, I went about 2 steps higher than planned. I really feel the 3800ss is a great all around choice for any upgrades I may or may not do.

this all sounds good but, how well does a stock tranny, and stock rear hold up to a SS 3600?

Brent, your tranny isnt gonna last but so long anyway. You may as well beef that up too. I know you wanna spray the hell out of it. My rear will last longer than yours :-P
I'll let you drive my car if you want to get a feel for a 3800 (but with the wimpy gears).
You can also talk to Dan since I know you love his setup.

Probably won't hold up long on drag radials. On street tires, I would imagine it will hold up almost as well as stock. Not positive since this is my first car with a high stall.

Its a toss-up between the SS3600/cooler and Privat's. Look or Go?! (my stock rims are crap. The person who owned the car before me curbed them up bad)
