HPP3 and shifting
So my car is basically stock. I'm not racing anyone. But I hate the shift characteristics. 1-2 isn't so bad but the 2-3 takes forever and a day if I do it manually.
Would an HPP3 allow me to tighten up the shifts?
Again, it's not a racing application, just goofing off on the way to work and back.

cant improve the 2-3 too much. I tried with my HPP3 and you dont wanna shift into 3rd under WOT or aggressive driving. The 2-3 shift isnt gonna be perfect and manually shifting it makes it more vulnerable for the 2-3 clutch pack to go out sooner.

yea it will make it a little firmer at WOT but not faster. I did it with my HPP3 too but no luck the shifts were real firm at part throttle but at WOT the 1-2 was good but the 2-3 seemed the same a stock. get a shift kit.

At the Transgo website it says this about their 4L60E kit:
NOTE: Computer strategy change may be required before kit installation on 98 and later vehicles.
So will an HPP3 work to change the computer "strategy" or do I need something else?

This is beginning to remind me of my prior automatic experience with 727 Torqueflites. The 1-2 shift is easy. The 2-3 is a bitch.
Are the shift kits pretty straight forward to install? Any major disassembly needed or an easy job under the car?
