Question Bad converter or something else?

I have a Dr Evil stg 2 tranny and tci 3500 super street fighter converter. Both have around 1500 miles on them. Im using a stock tune besides correction for gears and tires with a hypercrap programmer (waiting for hptuners). Here's the problem. At WOT on the 1-2 shift it pulls good till around 4700-5000rpms then the rpms rap out fast and it feels like the car is falling on its face and has no power. What do you think it is and could it be fixed/tuned with hptuners? -Thanks

Default

One guy told me today that he had a similar problem. It would get to the upper rpms and go into "neutral mode". He said the problem was a cracked piston in the transmission. Does this sound right? His 4l60 was in a '94 lt1 firebird though. Whats the difference between the 4l60s in the lt1 cars to the 4l60s in ls1 cars? Sucks if i have to take this brand new transmission out with a warranty that just ended.
