Default 3rd gear problem at the track

Right after she makes the 2-3 shift, she loses a few hundred rpm somewhere??? It sounds like I'm letting off the gas. Is it my 3.42's or do you guys think it may be something else? By my calculations with my 7.499 1/8 mile, I should be in 11.70's. You can definately hear what I'm talking about in the video. Even my brother thought I let out. FYI, it did it everytime down the track. Thanks

I watched it and listened. It sounds like one of two things.

a) The torque converter could be locking up. You need to log a run to find out if that's happening. I didn't think a 4L60-E in an F-body would lock in third at WOT but it's possible.

b) The band isn't letting go on the 2-3 shift which would mean you are getting a 2-4 shift. If this problem exists the 3-4 clutch pack is going to take a hell of a beating and will not last long.

Its a non-luckup converter So I guess it the tranny will be pulled soon.

Non lockup converter? What transmission is in there? Most of the converter mfg's for 4L60e's make them with a lockup. If its not the above, maybe a torque management issue. It sounds to me like a lockup or 2-4.

*UPDATE*

When I bought the converter, I looked on TCI's site to view the specs. It specifically stated "non-lockup converter". This was a few months ago. I checked it out again and it no longer says that. So I emailed the company and asked and was told that there must have been a typo on the site, and that the Super street fighter is definately a lockup. SO, I broke out the ole laptop and plugged into the tranny controller and sure enough the "TCC lockup at WOT" box was checked. Haven't been able to test to actually verify, but thats what everyone is telling me it sounds like. And from my 1/8 mile (7.499) I should definately be in the 11.60's to 11.70's. Thanks again guys!

You'll get there in no time! This stuff is an addiction - once it gets in your blood, it stays! I'm almost ready to hit the bottle, so hopefully some 10's are right around the corner!
