Default Are all stalls created equally

I was wandering are all stalls created equally, whats the differences between a vigilante, tci or a yank converter with 4000 stall, will they perform the same? There is also a local well recognized torque converter shop here in town who charges $700 for a custom t/q, with free re stall and a 1 year warranty stall for my car will it perform like a yank, or the vigilante, what Is the key creating factor.

Most converters will give you relatively similar results. I do know that the higher end (priced) models are custom made and/or use billet machined parts. No, all converters are not created equal. Research the converter of interest and decide which is best for you based on your finacial requirements.

4000 Stall converters can vary with different manufacturers. Take the Yank SS4000 and PT4000. They are both 4000 stalls but, are different animals. When someone can "build" a TC like Yank or Vig, they are full of it. Without extensive testing and R&D, how will you know what stall it is an how efficient it is. Just copying someones internals will not yeild the same converter. I learned my lesson with a cheap converter. It leaked and did not perform like top brand converters. I chose Yank because of their service and making a top quality product. I have had 2 Yank TC's and been happy with both of them.
