Is there anyway to tell for sure? You say its a 4L60, they came in the 93s. I just have no idea but I would like to know how to tell them apart. Thanks

It's a 4L60E. It has the round electrical connector on the passenger side, that tells me it's not a 4L60. It is an E without a doubt.
And since it has a non removable bellhousing it has to be in the range of late '93 to '96 or so.

Lightbulb

Isn't '4L60E' stamped on the side of 4L60E transmissions?
It is on all the ones I've seen out of a car.

Only on the ones with the removable bellhousing and six bolt tail housing.
The older 4L60E's with the four bolt tail housing do not say 4L60E anwhere on the transmission.
They might have the RPO code cast into it such as MD8 for a 700R4, I forgot what the one is for the 4L60E. But that transmission in the picture is a 4L60E, theres no doubt about it.
