Default aftermarket flexplate t/c bolt hole?

I bought a used SFI flexplate - not sure the brand.
It has bosses to let the converter tabs sit flat, and recessed areas around the torque converter bolt holes where the head will sit. Why?
The stock bolts fit the t/c threads (Yank) and they have a washer type head that is too big diameter to fit into the recessed areas in the plate.
Anyone been here and what did you do?
I think this is why he sold it - I see he tried these bolts and the contact area looks like the bolts shucked in the holes....because the bolt did not fit into that area of the plate.
