The junkyards around here have a ton of long tail th400's in 80's trucks and vans. Not th375's either.
Short tail th400's are more rare but better for a swap, if it has a bolt on yoke it can be removed and replaced with the proper slip yoke.

IMO the older th400's are more desirable..
The older th400's have cast aluminum clutch apply pistons. The newer versions have stamped steel apply rings.
I forget the year when GM began using the cheap stamped steel rings though.
