Dropped two tenths with a TC, what's up?
I installed my TC and made it to the track a week ago. I borrowed my bro's ET Streets and I hit the track. My first pass I dropped .2 in the 60ft and beat my best time by .013. The second pass I kept at 2.0 60 ft, but then dropped my ET by .2. That doesn't quite add up, usually that big of a drop in 60 ft should show a bigger drop in ET. There definitely was no tire spin.
Keep in mind this is at 5800 ft at Bandimere, so the times do sound weak, but that's common here.
The only thing I can think of is that the ET Streets were a bit too much tire, but I wanted some more thoughts. It doesn't quite make sense to drop my 60 ft so much without much gain in ET. But I'm not sure how less tire would quite help.

Have you taken in consideration a weather difference? That could be it. Generally a .10 off your 60-ft is worth .15 off your 1/4 mi ET. I think ET Streets are too much tire for your setup. Nitto DR would work better, since ET Streets tend to kill some trap speed.

i have to question your 60' times. They should be sub 2.0 with your set up, espically on et streets. Like someone also said check your tuning since you have a smaller converter than stock. Pcm will think your tranny/converter is slipping too much and will reduce power, not to mention possiable missfire codes.

I had the same problem. My 1st time out I only dropped .15, ALL in the 60'. I logged a run & saw it was shifting early. So I played with the tune (it no longer shifts where it's told to, I have to fool it) and now I've dropped another 10th. I'm hoping for more, but well see. The faster you go, the harder it gets.....

Let me emphasize, this is at Bandimere at 5800 feet and sometimes DA is 8000+, I'm pulling down 14.0s and that's faster than most LS1s. I was hoping for a 1.9 60ft, but that's the most I'll be able to hope for.
I did a bit of tuning myself, I could have fucked it up, but the car does seem to run better than before the tune. I didn't really mess with AFRs either.
So the Nittos can hook well and not drop MPH as much? I did drop about 3 mph in the traps.

you should pick up 4 tenths after that converter swap.. if you have stock gears then a bigger/sticky tire like that might kill it.. try the m/t drag radials or nittos.. it will probly spin just a bit off the line but it will pick up the trap speeds and possibly pick up the 60ft time as well cause it wont bog the motor down cause of the lack of gear with a big/sticky tire.
i'm guessing you deleted the torque management right?
