Default Trans Filter Kit w/ Temp Gauge, Should I?

Just wondering if you guys think this is something that could be beneficial or would I just be better off getting a regular trans temp gauge and not doing any of this filter stuff?

BTW: The car has a B&M 24gvw trans cooler and it's a (supposedly) built 4L60E from TCS that I got about a month before they tanked. I'm upgrading my TCS 3200 stall to a TCI 4000 and want to do all that I can to extend the life of my tranny.
