Default Replacement For 4l60e

Cool site. I just joined in. I have a 2000 Z28 with a 6speed.

My problem is with the wifes Roadmaster with an LT1 (what a sleeper).
reverse is out, and it's also shifting weird. I've heard that these are common problems with this trans- maybe junk?
What are you guys replacing this trans with? Maybe a 700r4? How do you bypass the computer?

thanks.

yeah i guess i will. i know a guy that will pull it, mod it, flush the lines, and install it for $1600.00. Sounds like the way to go. He'll also give me a 3 year, 50,000 mile warranty.
