Default Th2004r

I broke my tranny today and the clutch was smoked. I have been thinking about doing this swap. What is the avarage price? What do u need? How good does it compare to a th300, I think the only difference is an od gear to keep the rpm low at highway speeds but thats as far as I know. This is also my daily driver. I really want to do this and I have a turbo kit on the way and am tired of being beat by a4 guys will less bolt on with a torque converter. Hope u guys can help me.

expect to pay around $5000 when all said and done. If your putting a turbo kit on i would go with a th400 and 3.5x gears with 28in tall tire with a pye3400 stall to handle all that power.

$5000?? wow not that high.

I have a solid built 200-4r that I am selling for 1500 and I will throw in a converter or another 500 (Yank SS3800E). That includes kickdown cable.

The only other stuff you would need is a Trans dipstick (30), Shifter (100), transcrossmember and possibly a driveshaft shortened (100).

htat is bullshit.. a buddy of mine went ot a local trans shop.. had him get a turbo 350 with basic stuff and 9" tailshaft. 300$ end of story it was done and rady to bolt in minus the converter and flexplate ofcourse.. hell you could then take that trans and build it up to ur aftermarket needs ect.. however he did not and ran 1.5x 60fts with 11.0 passes in his lt1 car and it never had a problem lol

it can be done. i suggest doing it urself.. tons cheaper.

Well since most of you have never done the swap and i have try doing a search and adding it all up before opening your mouth.

Converter from yank costs $995 (pye3600)

trans your gonna spend anywhere from, $2600 to $4000 and you better have a BRF core or its another $250. http://www.ptsxtreme.com/mcartfree/p...eTransmissions

Gonna need a new tq arm like the spohn or something like it http://www.spohn.net/product.cfm?productid=1329 thats $400.

New driveshaft $300

trans cooler $40-100 depending on what you want

How about getting the speedo to work...how much does that little box from yank cost?

new crossmember $60 http://www.transmissioncenter.net/200-4R.htm

shifter????
Yeah you can put it together cheaply if you wanted and use a stock trans that will hold maybe 400rwhp......good luck with the swap, btw i saved money and built the trans myself.

I know it's about 5 grand to do a full th400 swap with the tranny, and all the needed crap to go along with it.. plus I'll have to change my rear end gears back to somethign more livable too.. 4.10's aren't gonna work out so good on a street car.

It's something I have been really thinking about doing for a while now... and no matter how I look at it.. it's probably the smartest thing for me to do if I want a consistant 11 second car.. times in sig are with 6 speed.

Did you ever do the 2004R swap? I called about a 2004R that would handle 900rwhp and it was going to be about $5,000.

TH2004r 's are expensive to build for big HP. thats why mine is still in the garage floor.
