Default fan switch for tranny temp controll

i was planning on doing a fan switch install solely for reducing my transmission temps for the abilty to further cool my tranny between runs.. wil having the fans run provide any significant cooling help for the tranny or do i need to upgrade something else .... as of now tranny temps are under controll for normal driving but after 2 runs their hot and it does take a good 5-10 min of driving to see them drop back down, i am just tring to prolong the heatup so can get a few more consecutive runs or at least get it too cool down faster

With the motor off, you're not going to cool much tranny fluid with a fan. If temps are an issue, I'd get a tranny pan with cooling fins / tubes. After that you can move up to the 24k or 28k cooler.

Since you have HPTuners, I assume that your fans are programmed for the 160 T-stat.

what about using the fans while the motor is on say i do a few runs and let my car sit in my driveway and the fans cool the motor and yes hp tuners was set for a 160 stat

would there be a big cooling difference if i went up to a huge cooler what about a fan powered one?

Problem with the stock fan control setup is, it controls
to block temp and the radiator can run up as high as
that.

My plan is, to take and modify the SLP fan switch I
got with a thermostat epoxied to the radiator, so I get
fans kicking on when the rad gets to 160F tank temp.

A 160F coolant temp in the rad will be a lot more help
to trans fluid temp than 200F, not to mention the rad
has some reserve cooling capacity for surge thermal loads.

A thermostatic, fan cooled tranny oil cooler would be the
ideal setup (for the trans at least; I'm motivated by the
engine as well). Then you have more options for mounting,
you don't need it to be shedding its heat right onto the
rest of the heat exchanger stack (condenser and rad),
and temp can be put right where it should be. The units
I've seen are expensive. But a Selco thermostat and a
pair of 12V brushless muffin fans and a bit of aluminum
sheet for a shroud, are not. The pre-made units are a lot
prettier though than what I'd cobble up.
