TH400, how easy would it be to convert?
My friends got a TH400 sitting in his garage and we where talking, and ive seen alot of LS1 f-bodys drag racing with TH400 and he said he'd trade me transmissions, mines a stock 4L60E with 112,000 miles on it and just wondering how easy it would be to convert to a TH400, would i need a new driveshaft? computer tune?

i needed a new driveshaft. the stock one was about 4 and a half inches short and i can tell i need a tune because the idle is a little choppy. some problems i ran into.....
1) i had to shim the crossmember for the body mount torque because the main bolt was hitting the drivshaft.
2) had to clip the two ears off the bellhousing and the 12 o'clock bolt didnt line up.
3)had to cut up the jegs flexplate cover because it was hitting the flexplate.
I bought most of my conversion parts from thunderracing.com and bmrracing.com
it was well worth looking for the conversion parts, im happy i did it. all in all I spent around 3,000-4,000$.
