I don't think my car has a shift kit in it. But when I floor it from a stop, and the car shifts into 2nd, you can really feel the shift. It's pretty strong. Not that I don't mind, but just wondering if that's a stock feeling?

I talked to a guy with a Z28 A4 with the same rear gears as I do [2.73], he has a stock tranny. And he said he also has a really firm 1-2 shift. I guess it's stock like that. No complaints though

When my Z was stock it would grab a good 1-2 shift- then I put a programmer on it and cranked up the line pressure and it went from a little tire chirp to an all out tire BBQ. I could punchit in D and it would smoke the tires all the through the shifts and hook up half way after the 2-3 shift. Went through some tires but it was fun.

If the trans is stock, You are probably looking at a worn 1-2 accumulator piston. Common in these. Wont really hurt it, just makes the 1-2 firmer. The purpose of the accumulator is to cushion the shift.
