Default 700r4 or 4l60e

i am putting a lt1 in my 64 nova and i need to find a trans i want an automatic with overdrive but i dont know which one.......4l60e would cost more cuase of the wiring harness i would need to get and i could find a converter for a 700r4 for cheaper what should i do?

the converter for a 4L60E for LT1, LS1 corvette 4L60e and 700R4 are the exact same. the converter for a 4L60E for a LS1 f-body is different.

not sure what you are getting at with the question.

im am trying to decide which trans i should go with.....if i go with the 700r4 everything would be a little cheaper

internally, everything is identical for the most part. the only difference is the electrical valvebody in the 4L60E which negates the need for a TV cable the 700R4 has. so, save yourself the headache and get the 700r4. you'll just need to run a TV cable to the TB. which there should be a provison to hook one up.

well i have to buy a harness for the motor so i will have all the electronics for it

the cost difference between the two should be minimal. like i said, the internals are the same for the most part.

yea i think i have decided to go with the 4l60e my buddies got one thats built up and i can get it for cheap....im just gonna put a maual valve body in it to avoid problems with the electronic one
