Default Whos running a decent sized cam with a 3500+ stall??

I'm putting this 233/239 R2 cam from TSP in my car within a few weeks hopefully.. I think I've decided to put a 3800rpm converter in it also. Supporting mods will be:

Ported FAST 90/NW 90, SLP Lid, Stock MAF
Hooker LT's, True Duals w/ Dumps
Built 4L60E w/ Manual Valvebody
3800 stall w/ 3.73 Gears
ASP Pulley, Walbro 255, HPTuners

I'm just curious about what its gonna do at the track.. Anyone running something close to this? I'm sure there is quite a few guys out there with this same setup or something really similar. My car has full suspension with QA-1's and will have M/T Drag Radials on it. Also has a wet kit on it..

I'm thinking it should run some high 11's or low low 12's N/A in good weather...

I was hoping to get some dyno/track numbers... Have you dyno'd your car yet? I'm hoping for 370+ out of this cam with the FAST 90/90 setup.. Hopefully it will do better than that..

Anyone else running a similar setup??

i would expect at least 400rwhp or over that...easily. Well, wtih stock heads, maybe not that much but enough to get you in the 11'z for sure. Practice! Practice! Practice!

Make sure you straigthen up the chassis (SFC, LCA, PHB, T.arm, etc) so you can maximize your launch.....

good luck, keep us posted....

I've already got full suspension.. BMR Tubular Kmember, Manual Steering, BMR Tubular A-Arms, BMR Adj. Rod-End LCA's, PHR, SFC's, with QA1 12-way Adjustables all around.. So it should 60ft pretty good..

I'll have a set of AFR 225's, but I'm not putting them on the car until I build another shortblock.. So, I'm just gonna run it cam only with the ported Fast90/90 Setup and see how it goes.. I think it will run pretty damn good but we will just have to see!

I think the car will be closer to mid 11's. With full suspension it outta 60ft well. What brand of stall you going with.

I just haven't seen alot of numbers from a setup like this so I don't really know what to expect from it ya know.. And I don't want to over shoot my boundaries and get my hopes up..

Probably a TCI SSF3800 because I'm broke and can't afford a Vigilante.. If the car runs an 11.XX I'll be happy with it.. It should do it, but theres only one way to find out.

Hopefully within the next month I can get this thing going..

With what you have done currently, your car should be running about 11.80's. Then when you get that cam you should see 11.30's. If you don't then there might be other things to be looking at on your car.

You should have no problem getting an 11.xx out of it with good launch and cool air. I have a similer setup that is one size larger cam/stall (MS3 and SSF4000) but zero money spent on suspension and weight reduction and a regular old LS6 intake. Best so far was 11.92 on a 1.64 60', back in June. DA was about +675. My car has never been especially quick.

I honestly do not see the car running anywhere near an 11.30.. My buddy has a Z with PRC 2.5 5.3 heads and a 226/226 camshaft with ls6 intake, full bolt ons, gomer built and tuned and it only runs 11.30s with a 3800 stall..

I think it will run some high 11's and I'd be happy with that. I don't see how the car will run 11.80s with stock engine and a stall. Thats pretty hard to see..

370rwhp seems kinda low for that cam doesnt it? Or am I wrong? Either way, thanks for the reply.. I'm hoping for 380+ out of this setup.

Depends on whether or not he has all the bolt-ons. Sig doesn't list them....

I made 385 rwhp through a SSF4000.

With cool air, some good tires, and a nice launch you car will run mid to low 11s. You're going to have a 90/90 set up and your friend probably doesn't have one of those.
PRC heads? Who make those?

I don't think you can really compare that setup in any way to yours. Actually there is no real way to compare to any car. Two cars with the exact same mods will run different numbers for many reasons. Lots of factors to look at. There is a very good posibility that you can run close to 11.30's. I'm not sure what your raceweight will be though. No one here can tell you what your car will run. Just get a good converter in there and take it to the track and you come back and tell us what it ran

Nice cam choice BTW. I use to own a TSP H/C car and was very pleased with the results of my setup.

Trust me, I've been doing this long enough to know that no car is the same and no setup is the same even if its the same exact parts.. Every car responds differently. I was just trying to get some feedback from other members with a similar setup.. But I honestly don't think that a converter, cam, fast intake is gonna pick the car up 1.5 seconds.. I know it will run in the 11's, but not a low 11.. Most heads/cam cars run low 11's and without heads I just don't see it.

As I have said before.. theres only one way to find out!
