Default th-400 experts in here

I just installed a th-400, took out the M6 and I have a question. The torque converter is about a 1/4 in away from the flexplate. Is this normal? Should I just push the tq toward the flexplate to eliminate the gap, or is there a spacer I need to get. The nipple on the torque is already centered and in the flexplate, so there is no problem there. Any help would be appiciated.

I'm not saying I'm an expert.
In my opinion a 3/16" gap is perfect, then pull it towards the flexplate and bolt it up.

As long as the front is in the crank pilot and the pump hub is not pushed all the way in you should be fine.

Default gape

don't believe 3/8 for one minute, if the gap is 1/4 " add a one cut washer. 400 pumps are very tricky on that gap.

Do a google search for rossler transmission. Their site has a detailed but simple procedure for adding spacers to set proper clearance. Make sure to check the converter to crank pilot hole engagement.
